Thought for the Day Part 3

I saw this on somebodies facebook status, but I like it. Food for thought.

Happy Birthday Libbi

A Birthday Poem for Libbi. Who was born 6 years ago today!

When I was One, I had just begun.

When I was Two, I was still brand new.

When I was Three, I was just only Me.

When I was Four, I was not much more.

When I was Five, I was barely alive.

But now that I'm Six, I'm clever as clever. So I think I'll stay Six now forever and ever!

Happy Birthday Beautiful Girl!

Our lives are better since you came into them. Enjoy this year. You are a smart and amazing girl with a crazy zest for life.

We Love You!

Just a little update

June has been a crazy month for us. It started with Libbi graduating from Kindergarten. She did so well this last year and has learned so much. We are so proud of her and all the things she's done this last year. I can't belive my baby is now a big first grader. Oh and she was only tardy once and didn't miss one day of school all year! Way to go Libbi! Take a look at the difference between last Fall and this Spring.

The next grand adventure was co-hosting Amanda's bridal shower with her now mother in law Sheri. We had a great afternoon! Enjoy some pictures!

Her Towel/Make up cake. Sheri put the cake part together. She did an amazing job. The hardest part was keeping it a secret because I just wanted to tell her about it.

Reading some love from the box of things her mom sent to us to give to her. Yup, we made her cry! But it was a good cry.

These were all the pictures I had. I was busy doing other things.

The next grand adventure were going with Amanda to do her bridal's. Again, I didn't take any pictures but you can see them by clicking here. Christy did an amazing job. After working with her this month on the wedding, I see some family pictures coming up soon. (As a plug for her, because she's just so cute and fun, I added her blog button to the side, click on it and look at her work.) Thanks to Amanda for allowing me to stand in and be there for her this last month. It was exhausting and stressful and so much fun. I'd do it all again if she asked.

Kyle and I celebrated 8 years together this month over Father's day weekend. It's been a crazy 8 years and I love him more now than I ever thought I could. Sorry, no pictures from our date, but thanks to my mom and dad for watching Libbi. We had a great weekend of fun.

Libbi has also perfected riding her bike. She's not quite ready to lose the training wheels, but her confidence has sored and it's hard to keep her off of it.

On Father's day weekend, Libbi went with my parents and sisters to see Mr. Popper's Penguin's. (I have to find that book) at the Gateway during the same time as an art festival of side walk chalk. Here is Libbi's chalk drawings.

We ended the month with the wedding of two of the best friends we could ask for. We couldn't be happier for these two. Again, I was busy doing other things, so I only have a few pictures. I'm going to have to borrow a few from Lauren. Thanks for taking pictures.

Libbi decided she was bored and it would be easier to sit on the floor for the rest of the ceremony.

Amanda with her bridesmaids (Sami and Katie) and flower girl.

The whole bridal party.

I'd like to say we get to relax for the rest of the summer, but we don't. Libbi's 6th birthday is about to come up and now that the wedding is over, it's time to focus on her.

Kindergarten Fun

Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to go to the zoo with Libbi's class on their field trip. Of course, it was cold and snowy and all the animals were inside, but it was fun to go hang out with a bunch of Kindergarten kids. Here are some fun pictures of the kids:

Notice how much it's snowing?!?!

First ride on the bus. She said it was the best part and she was most excited about that part of the field trip.

Renewed Effort

I'm thinking I should renew my effort to blog more often. Maybe mostly for my own selfish reasons, but I've done some serious lacking on the updating. So here is the dirt on what's been going on lately.

Libbi hates school. Mostly I think she hates going to daycare and then to school and back to daycare all day. Once she is at school, everything is great. I've volunteered a couple of times in her class room and I know that she does great once she's there. She's currently on spring break and that means mom is attempting to de-junk the house. So far the thought is proving to be more productive than the actual doing. We did manage to get two full bags of toys for the di in yesterday's efforts.

Kyle was promoted to a full time tech at Burt Brother's. He's learning a lot and loving it. He's currently super excited for our annual Easter weekend sand dunes trip. He's also been building a custom 3 wheeler. It's not going to be able to go this trip, but soon.

As for me, not much going on. I went to working 4 - 10 hour days in January so I could be off on Friday's to help out at Libbi's school and so that she wasn't at daycare so long on those days. So far, it's been awesome. We've gotten to spend some awesome quality time together and had some fun with Jen and her girls. Friday's make working long days the rest of the week totally worth it.

That's about all the fun that's been going on in our lives. Just work and school. What's going on in your lives?

Thought for the Day Part 2

Today's thought:

"If it Matter's to a Child,
Then It's Important!"

Sometimes, as the Mom, I forget that when Libbi asks me to do things or wants my attention, that I should be giving her my full and undivided attention. Because whatever it is, it matter's to her. Besides, when she grows up, I want her to know that I will always be there to listen and care.

Besides, who could resist giving this kid almost everything she asks for?

Thought for the Day

I saw this on an email I got, but I wanted to remember it, because I like it:

"I believe
That Sometimes when I'm angry, I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel."

A Fairy Tale Story

Once upon a time there was a girl named Jessica, she used to blog all the time. Now she sucks at it. Sorry, facebook is much easier and requires less words and complete thoughts. Besides, I think since I took a leave of absence from this time sucking world, people have stopped reading. That's the end....

Yay!

Now that we have internet at home, I'll try to catch up on our lives! But not today, today we are going to have birthday fun!
