She's Not A Baby Anymore

I am mourning the loss of my baby to a little girl. The other night she was digging for something under her bed and found an old binky. I know what you are thinking, but I thought I had gathered them all up and disposed of them appropriately. However, she found one, I think she had stashed it when we told her they were going away. When she came running out with her hands over her mouth giggling, I knew something was up. She just kept playing with it and finally I told her to throw it away. When she came back, I asked her where the binky went and she said, "I put it in the garbage because I don't need them anymore!" and off she went to play. I was so proud of her, but a part of me was sad. She's not my baby any more, she is becoming a little girl. Which I am very happy about, but I miss the quiet moments of snuggling and rocking and that a binky would instantly settle her down. Occasionally, I walk through the baby isle and think that if I bought binky's, then maybe for a moment she would be a baby again. Then I remember that she sleeps through the night without one, since she isn't waking up to find it all night long. It's good, I am glad we no longer need a binky for sleeping and to have all day, she is much to big, but she looked so silly with one in her mouth the other night. And she knew it. Alright, there is my mommy moment for the week.

Here is the other fabulous moment from my weekend. I was washing Kyle's uniforms and somehow a pen sneaked through. For those of you who know me, I washed my Book of Mormon in 9th grade and a blue restaurant crayon with my work clothes. I am notorious for washing things that should not be washed. Well, I thought I got the pen out without much damage, put his uniforms in the dryer and walked away. When I went back to change loads, I opened the dryer and to my surprise, found blue ink all over in the dryer. Great, just great! So off to Lowe's we went for lacquer thinner and latex gloves. Luckily, I got all of it out and it seems to be gone. Kyle was not very excited about having ink all over his uniforms and I don't know how to get it out. Maybe I'll make him send them to their cleaners and see if they can get it out. One day, maybe, I'll learn not to put things that don't belong in the washing machine in the washing machine. It was an expensive little mess up. Well, now you all know how to get crayon or ink out of the dryer, lacquer thinner!
