This is called a Jerusalem Cricket or Stenopelmatus fuscus according to Riley....he's the bug guy, so he must be right! According to him, they bite hard, so lucky for me, he didn't get a very good grab on my leg.

That's so scary! I would have freaked. Your camping trip looks really fun! That's one of my goals this summer.
